This brings our total to over $7.5 million dollars since the Credit Unions became the title sponsor in 2002. At least It was a pleasant day for charity fundraising, with $505,000 raised by participants, Credit Unions and Credit Union partners for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Our participants and supporters should be deeply grateful for their efforts along with our 2,000 race weekend volunteers. This spirit shone ever more brilliantly this year as everyone pitched in to implement the many adjustments which had to be made on short notice to ensure the event would take place at all. They work incredibly hard and pour their souls into the event.
Our 44th Running Celebration Shortly after we had all warmed up in the aftermath of our blustery and cold race day, Adam Lambros, the son of Deputy Race Director Becky Lambros and a race volunteer since he was four-years old, came up with the idea for our special t-shirts emblazoned with “The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Blew Me Away.” In my mind this symbolizes the creativity and the passion of the entire organizing committee.
